StartUp@WakeTech Program

The StatUp@WakeTech Program is exists to do two things:

  1. To bring ENTREPRENEURSHIP know-how into the classroom, and incorporate Wake Tech into the greater entrepreneurial community.
  2. To connect Wake Tech to the rapidly growing entrepreneurial culture in the Triangle.

We do this with four basic offerings:

  1. Entrepreneur Speaker Bureau:
    • Faculty can request a guest lecture for their class.
    • Entrepreneurs and business professionals can volunteer their time to speak to Wake Tech students.  They will be trained on the three standard topics or may bring their own.  Just email mailto:kagailes@waketech.eduto get started.
  2. HQ Raleigh Co-Working Community Access: – The Wake Tech/Wells Fargo Center for Entrepreneurship has purchased a membership to HQ Raleigh.  Faculty and staff may request access to HQ Raleigh facilities for classes, meetings, and events.
  3. Opportunities to work with local entrepreneurs on actual business projects and needs:  Faculty can incorporate real live small business owners into their classroom activities., giving them experience working with ‘clients’ and exposure to real business issues and challenges.  Just send an email to kagailes@waketech.edu to initiate the planning process.
  4. Providing invitations to and awareness of entrepreneurial evens and opportunities around the Triangle.

Let’s make Wake Tech the MOST entrepreneurial community college in the state….maybe even the nation!
